Once you have selected Google Ads, you will need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Enter your Google Ads account IDs

If you wish to connect your Google Ads account, you will be asked to enter the Google Ads account IDs you want to integrate. In order to find these, please log in to your Google Ads account and click on the profile icon in the top right corner.

NOTE: we can't connect MCC (My Client Center) accounts, only Ad accounts under them.

You will find the account IDs next to the account names in the menu (please notice that the ID is a 10-digit number).

Now you can accept the invite coming from our account called "AudienceReport Integrated Reporting"(access.integrated.reporting@audiencereport.com).

Please notice that in order to accept this invite, you will need to have Admin access level to your Google Ads account.

Within a couple of hours, after you have accepted the link, the accounts will be connected and you will be able to check the status of the integration in the Integrated reports tab.

You can now create your first Integrated Report. If instead you still need to connect your Facebook Ads account, please read the guide.

Integrated Reporting with Google Ads: permissions limitations

Please notice that when the AudienceReport Integrated Reporting account is invited to your Google Ads account, you need to grant it administrator access and you cannot give "Read Only" access to it. This is a known limitation in the Google Ads ecosystem and we recommend that you contact Google support to request the implementation of more granular access.

AudienceProject does not require the wide scope offered by the Ads ecosystem and takes specific measures to limit access:

  • The AudienceReport Integrated Reporting - 468-862-2917 Google Ads account is a secondary account created just for the purpose of this integration.
  • Access to the account is protected with 2-step verification under SSO
  • All Integrated Reporting data is gathered programmatically using the email account "access.integrated.reporting@audiencereport.com" which has Read-only access to the accounts it has been invited to.

  • Invites coming from AudienceReport to your Google Ads account need to be initiated by a user with Admin permissions, hence there is a secondary user from AudienceProject that will manually send out the account invites.

As a result, the user list on the AudienceReport Integrated Reporting - 468-862-2917 account access user list looks as follows: one user with read-only access to read campaign data programmatically and another user with admin access with the purpose of sending account invites and connect your Google Ads account to the AudienceReport one.
